Club News
(and gossip)
22nd
December
In the Dodgy Pics Gallery I've put a
link in to a new layout of the album. Go have a look and see what you think.
With this layout you are able to leave comments and you can upload any dodgy
pics yourself with the 'public uploader' (I like this bit, 'cos it takes the
blame off me for putting them up, lol!) Oh, and if need be, it can all be done
anonymously and then at the following club meeting you can see if you can pass
yourself off as an innocent. Dean, you'd better get some practice in, esp. after
your username effort! And Stu, I reckon you'll be safe. At least for the first
few months till you figure out how to do it! The only downside is because it's
free, it means they chuck adverts in, like the forum. You can upgrade it which
would remove them but at $6.95 a month, it's something I think we can live with,
unless somebody hates them that much and wants to become a sponsor of the Dodgy
Pics gallery!
Also, it seems that each year,
everybody asks if anyone is going out for a beer over the CRIMBO
(sorry Beefy!) period and
the standard answer seems to be 'dunno...', so if anyone is going out for a few
bevvies and they want some company, chuck it in the forum and then I, I mean,
people don't have to sit at home thinking, I wonder what everyone else is
doing..?
Finally, I'd just like to wish all
the club members and their families, the stalker (yes, you...), and visitors to
our effort of a website a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and I hope your
Xbox's last past the New Year before blowing up and your Wii controller doesn't
end up embedded in your tv!
PS. If you do get a Wii, remember to shut the curtains (esp. with the boxing
game!)
19th December
The club's 'Xmas' Piss Up looks to
have been sorted for Saturday 3rd January and it just happens to coincide with
Banbury Soul Club's first do at their new venue, which means no missing the end
of the night 'cos the taxi has come early (or hanging around outside in the cold
'cos the taxi's not turned up!). And what with the 2am closing time it'll save
certain people (who shall remain anonymous) going to (Shit)cagos in search of
more beer.
It looks like it's going to be a messy start to the new year then...
And long may it continue!
9th December
Cheers Maty for the following info;
Royston's funeral will be Thursday 11th Dec, 10am at St Mary's church all
welcome. Family and close friends will then go to Banbury crematorium. All
welcome to attend the wake in the function room at the back of the Labour Club
11am - 4pm.
Ches has suggested meeting up at nine
at The Exchange for a coffee (or something stronger) and then making our way up.
The Miracle Of Christmas
Nope, I'm not on about the birth of Jesus. More amazing than that... Stu
has finally managed to post a comment on the forum! Amen!!
And speaking of Jesus, I've been
wondering about something...
If you went home one day and your missus said, 'Love, I've got some fantastic
news. You know how we've never had sex and I'm still a virgin? Well, whilst you
were out at work, an angel popped round and told me I'm pregnant. And to top it
off, it's with the son of God!'
Would you not be just a little bit suspicious? Maybe it's just me but I can't
see that excuse working too well nowadays (great story for The Sunday Sport
though!)
28th
November
If anyone is wanting to make a
contribution towards Royston's collection, then Ches will be going round on
Saturday night.
Also, further details about his funeral will be put up as and when we find out.

Just found the minutes from last
Thursday's club meeting. Wasn't able
to read all the scribblings due to it being written on a tissue and then
left in my pocket for a few days but from what I have recovered I don't
think it's too big a disaster!
First off, we had two young lads turn up called Charlie and Dan.
Hopefully, they were not too put off by the drunken ramblings and
piss-taking and will decide to join the club (even if it is just to let Ralph
know he is no longer 'the only Mod in the village'!)
The idea of having a club banner was dismissed as it seemed a bit silly
splashing out on all that money just for one rally.
Some people thought it was about time we had a new Club photo.
Favourite websites were asked for so we could add them to the links
page (and from there it went downhill...)
Other notes taken down were...
I (Dave) went to the toilet four times.
Mel has been waiting for her ceiling to be done since April (well, if you will
go out with a plasterer, Mel...)
Mark would like to do a naked club calendar.
Surprisingly(?), this got loads of volunteers, so many in fact, that someone
suggested doing one for the girls and one for the boys. But the drinks
had been flowing by then so we'll see...!
Clare put out an appeal for any websites that cater for ladies who like their
gentlemen more 'mature'
Stuart would like a new club t-shirt design for 2010. (and preferably one saying
Vespa, not Vespov)
The rest of the minutes were either unreadable, probably not meant for public
knowledge (or the rest of the club if we were in a sober state) or just didn't
make sense so I've leave it there.
8th October
Not exactly club news but maybe of
interest to the 'soulies' in the club!
Click here for a new film that's being made and apparently ruffling a
few feathers in some Northern Soul circles. Way I see it, you're never
going to please everyone if you make a film about things like this (the
skins amongst us have had to put up with that for years! lol)
23rd
September

Ralph has booked a four berth chalet
for Hemsby and has two spaces
spare. Give him a shout if you want them.
17th
September
Have already posted this in the forum
but just in case, I thought I'd bung
it in here as well...
Got some more details from Stu (ORSC) and
have put them on the 'Upcoming Events' page.
It's a PDF file so you may have to download a reader from
www.adobe.com but I should
imagine
99% of you will already have it installed, even if you haven't used it yet!
He also said he'd put together a map and directions to the free campsite
which I will pass on once I get them and there will be discreet road signs put
up as well

Ralph has passed on details about a
alldayer at The Twisted Wheel in
Manchester on Sunday 12th October. I've put them on the Events Page
so anyone is interested, go have a look!
2nd
September
I've changed the password to the dodgy
gallery so if you want it, send me
a e-mail. Also, if the only pics are from me of Shaz then I don't think she is
going to be too impressed (esp. when she finally goes on the site and sees
them, ha ha!) If you have any dodgy pics that are scooter related (and I know
you have!), then send them in, ya selfish gits. Hell, if you're worried about
your perverted dark side being revealed, just set up a hotmail account and
send them with that!
Ches asked about the Oxford Roadrunner's
rideout on their Weekender.
I have been in touch with their PR office and they have released the following
statement;
'Hi ya, All I can confirm is
that we're meeting at the Boundary House, Abingdon at 11am to
leave at 12pm. Route is yet to be confirmed.'
Ches also said that at the next club meeting,
he would be getting the drinks in
all night.*
26th August
It has been suggested that we should get
a club banner for the rallies.
Any thoughts on this, bung them in the forum, or if we remember(!) maybe
we could discuss it at the next club meeting?
15th
August
Right, that's me finished with the
updates/building for the time being,
I've got to start sorting me shit out for the IOW. Hopefully, that new forum
is easier to use and posts won't get buried away and never seen. Oh, and
have you noticed the new 'gallery' at the bottom? Oooh... lol
Don't forget to read the previous bit of news below about the club meeting
regarding Ralph and I'll see ya'll Thursday night!
(now, where did I put the cooler bag
for the beer...?)
13th
August
'Planned' meeting time for the Isle
of Wight rally is Friday morning by
8:30am from Sainsbury's car park on Oxford Road. (see you all about
nine! lol)
Also, Ralph is going to bring his van up to the club meeting, so if you want
any kit taking down to the rally, bring it along. (Cheers, Ralph!)
9th
August
Club Do/Piss up on the 27th September
has been postponed due to
a few members not being able to make it. Hopefully, a new date will
be set shortly.
4th August
Next club meeting will be Thursday
21st August due to
the IOW rally. (I'm sure this was mentioned at the last meet.
If it's just me and the beer head can someone let me know! Cheers)
